#50PreciousWords2023

Often months go by with thoughts blending into each other. We mean to jot them down, maybe we even do, without every returning to finish them. May of 2022 seems ages ago in many ways, but especially in the context of writing. I have plotted and scribbled manuscripts, erased them and began anew. I have learned to storyboard and make a dummy, borrowing my son’s glue stick and safety scissors for a weekend at SCBWI in NYC. Daydreams of whales, famous spiders, and sticky fingers have expanded my skill as a writer in ways I could have only hoped for a year ago.

2022 was about exploring the art of being an author. Was it something I truly wanted? Is it something I truly need to live my best life? With those questions indubitably answered, this year is about growing into one.

Write. Revise. Publish. Repeat.
